Select 12 Rotarians of the Month and program topics, provide liaison with the
District Speakers Bureau, include Rotary information programs
Attendance
Monitor attendance, contact members as needed, recruit attendees for District
6110 events, award perfect attendance pins
Member Relations
Suggest items for FayroTales, maintain bulletin board, gather and share member
care and concern items
Classification and Membership Development
Recruit new members and former members, conduct recruitment campaign or contest,
identify classifications of new members, identify prospective members
Membership Appraisal
Review the qualifications of proposed new members to ensure that they meet Rotary
standards, submit those qualified to the Board for approval
Sergeant at Arms (John Holmes)
Select 12 monthly Sergeants at Arms who sit at the sign-in table, announce visiting
Rotarians and guests, and select a member each week during their month to give
the invocation
Orientation and Retention
Schedule orientation of new members (conducted by Past Presidents), coordinate
a mentoring system, maintain the button board
Fellowship Committee
Arrange quarterly fellowship events for the club, identify and coordinate greeters
Club History
Research club history, maintain records, present history vignettes to the club,
print accounts of club history as appropriate
Club Publicity
Provide information for the website, have Rotary events publicized in newspapers,
on TV, radio, on the public access bulletin board, in District 6110 publications
and the Rotarian magazine; serve as liaison with the City of Fayetteville and
the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce
Lunch Bunch
Conduct an on-going dialogue with the Radisson about food, room assignment,
room set-up, the bulletin board, audio-visual equipment; distribute and collect
change cups
Music
Serve as or identify a piano player and song leader for each club meeting; distribute
song sheets and update them seasonally
VOCATIONAL SERVICE (Anne Goodman James and Mike Robards)
Interact Liaison
Advise and guide the Interact Club and its leaders, report to the Board about
Interact events and needs
Partners in Service
Work with the Fayetteville public schools and with city officials on partnership
projects for which club members can volunteer or which club can support financially
Vocational Awareness and Awards
Coordinate classification talks, arrange club meetings and tours at members’
work sites, make vocational ethics awards, sponsor a 4-Way Test Competition
for high school students
COMMUNITY SERVICE (David Beauchamp and Meika Hatcher)
Softball Tournament
Coordinate tournament, seek sponsorships, design t-shirts and have printed,
provide liaison with the City of Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department,
work with vendors and sales, do publicity, team recruiting, obtain promotional
items, arrange for or provide park maintenance, conduct contests, coordinate
volunteers
Youth Programs
Coordinate club contributions to and volunteer activities with Rotary and community
organizations serving youth, such as the Boys and Girls Club, RYLA events, Girls’
State and Boys’ State, 4-H, boys’ baseball
Service Above Self Awards Banquet
Plan and coordinate banquet, solicit nominations, choose award recipients
Volunteer Recognition (President-Elect Pat O’Brien)
Track club and club members’ eligibility and oversee nomination or application
process for various District and RI awards, such as the Presidential Citation,
Four Avenues of Service Citation, RI Service Above Self Award, District 6110
awards, Citation for Meritorious Service and Distinguished Service Award, RI
Public Relations Award, Significant Achievement Award, etc.
Human Development
Coordinate programs and campaigns relating to organ donor awareness, prostate
cancer awareness, blood donation, literacy programs, childhood immunizations,
and similar areas of Rotary interest
Community Scholarships
Provide liaison to the Fayetteville High School, University of Arkansas, Single
Parent Scholarship Program and other recipients of club scholarships; work with
Interact and others to publicize the availability of scholarships; recognize
outstanding Fayetteville High School students
Birthday Contributions
Volunteer (perhaps for your own birthday month) to be one of 12 Club members
who distribute contribution envelopes, encourage birthday contributions, lead
monthly contest participation, and recognize each month’s Birthatarians
Community Development
Coordinate Adopt-a-Highway and Curb-the-Clutter programs and volunteer activities,
develop other initiatives relating to environmental protection and community
beautification, provide liaison with community projects such as WRMC, the Boys
and Girls Club, and the Blair Library
INTERNATIONAL SERVICE (Bob Safranak and Patsy Brewer)
Group Study Exchange
Coordinate hosts for visits, provide GSE reports and publicity
Rotary Foundation
Provide information about the Foundation, recognize Paul Harris Fellows and
Sustaining Members , recruit new Paul Harris Fellows, coordinate activities
relating to the Foundation’s Community Assistance Program, Humanitarian
Grants, Ambassadorial Scholarships, Grants for University Teachers, and PolioPlus;
coordinate can project for PolioPlus
World Community Service
Coordinate participation in the Medical Supply Network, Sister City programs,
and new RI projects relating to World Community Service
International Youth Exchange
Coordinate host families, activities, club visits for incoming student; recruit
out-going students for long- and short-term exchanges; arrange for returning
students to present programs to the club
